Pure luxuryHolidayCheck Mark PolandMy wife and I spent 2 luxurious weeks at Zanzi Resort and it was really amazing on every level. Everything is tastefully decorated with subtle elegance and with a real feeling of luxury and privacy. Our villa was absolutely stunning. The private pool was gorgeous. The food was of the highest quality and had a good mix of european and african dishes. What really makes this place stand out are the staff. There was a true warmth and friendliness that just made you feel relaxed like at home. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning.

Perfect resort in ZanzibarBooking.com Helen IzaelFor sure - the best resort in Zanzibar! everything there is just perfect - the food is amazing, beautiful and large rooms, excellent and most welcoming staff, private beach and lovely pool.
They have a magnificent jetty - from which you can enter the deep water, so it's not affected by the lows and tides, and there's plenty of beautiful fish to see there. The hotel also provides snorkeling equipment and kiak boat, free off charge, and without any time limits.
They also have clean and tasty tap water (which you can't find anywhere else in Zanzibar).
In conclusion - worth every penny. Definitely a 5 star Experience

The best resort!TripAdvisor NefrTiTi TajpejThe first time I saw the pictures of Zanzi Resort on the internet, I knew I would not choose any other place to stay during my vacation in Zanzibar. When my boyfriend and I finally arrived, we were even more in love with it!
We stayed in a villa with private swimming pool and ocean view. The room is spacious and consists of a cozy living room. Next to the swimming pool there is a booth lounge where we can lie on the cushions and watch the view. There is a private path to the beach from our yard. The tide changes from morning to night. In the morning when the water level is low, we can walk to the beach and see some sea creatures around.
Our favourite spot of the resort is the jetty. It is so beautiful that I can not find a proper way to describe its beauty. We had our dinner once on the jetty and it was wonderful! The staff set up the table well in advanced and only show up when they deliver the dishes. For the entire night, the jetty is our private place for a romantic dinner!
Also, there is a small sandy beach available for dinner or lunch(reservation required), we had dinner once there too and it was beautiful. The staff lighted up the torch around us so we would be free from the mosquitos and have some light when enjoying dinner. We could hear the bush baby chatting in the tree and the wave hitting the shore.
The resort provides half board meal plan. Breakfast and dinner are included, and they are both a-la-carte. They provide different styles of breakfast and it can always be customised as you wish. Dinner menu changes everyday and if you have it in the restaurant, you can watch the staff feeding the wild bush baby and enjoy your dinner with them(well not at the same table though)! There are 3 courses for dinner: appetiser, main course, and dessert, and there are always 2-3 options for appetiser and main dish. If you feel like having the meals in your own room, they can do room service as well(no extra charge). Food is great here and they have various wine selection even though it is a muslim country/island. All the staff are well trained and very helpful in any requests. We had a great time with them!
During our stay, aside from chilling in our resort, we also spent some time in the spice market, stone town, jozani forest, and prison island. The resort has their own dhow(sailing boat), so we went to prison island by sailing directly from our restort jetty. it was a spectacular experience. We chilled at the upper deck for some sunbathe on the way sailing there and our guide showed us around when we reach the prison island. After hanging out with the tortoise and feeding them, we went back to our dhow and had the lunch the resort had prepared for us on board. The staff must have known that we love wines so they even brought a bottle of sparking wine in case we wanted to drink it while having lunch(which we did). We then sail to do some snorkelling in the middle of the sea. On the way back we watched the sunset on our dhow.
Kashia was our handler and she was really friendly and helpful. I told her that we came to Zanzibar to celebrate my boy friend's birthday and she had the kitchen prepare a cake for him as a surprise on the night we had the birthday dinner by the beach.
The resort is not very big but it is a perfect scale for those who are seeking for a private, comfortable, relaxing holiday getaway. The food, the view, the facility, the ambience, the staff and the experience is just wonderful.
I want to thank all the staff that had helped us and delivered the excellent service, it was truly a wonderful vacation!

“A wedding as perfect as it could be”TripAdvisor It’s hard to imagine a more magical and romantic place for a small, intimate wedding than this boutique hotel! We got married there in early June and everything was as perfect as it could be: The staff was incredible (both in the run-up to our wedding, answering every single question we came up with and also organised a great photographer and make-up artists and stylists who were both amazing) and then when we got to Zanzi Resort, immediately making us feel at home and pampered. We stayed in a beautiful little bungalow decked out with fresh tropical flowers each day with our own pool and secluded beachside terrace overlooking the sea, where the incredibly friendly staff served us our lavish dinners and brunches.
The ceremony itself was beautiful – we got married on the hotel’s tiny private beach, which the staff had lovingly decorated with a beautiful canopy and loads of flowers – and then had our delicious dinner on the jetty overlooking the sea – and after dinner the kitchen staff brought us a cake which we shared with them. In a word: Absolutely perfect!
It was just the two of us (and while it would be perfect for a wedding with a dozen or so guests, this is definitely not a place for a huge wedding) – and we immediately felt at home. ZanziResort made us feel as if everyone truely cared about making this an incredibly beautiful and special day for us. Thank you!
So thank you!

TripAdvisor We stayed here for 4 nights during our honeymoon. After an incident at the airport in Kenya, I phoned ahead and I can genuinely say the managers at Zanzi went above and beyond to help us out (Kasia you are a credit to Zanzi). Even before we got there. This was exceptional customer service that I haven't experienced anywhere else before. They really wanted us to relax and enjoy ourselves and couldn't have done enough to accommodate us, even saying that as guests we were members of their family now, and they look after their family. The location is lovely, our private pool villa was decorated beautifully, very spacious and extremely peaceful. A perfect getaway from it all spot. There are lots of excursions to avail of and the food and drinks in the restaurant were fab. I would highly recommend to any other couples or honeymooners looking for a quiet romantic secluded spot where you are spoiled all day long.

We stayed as a family in the two bedroomed eco villa and had an absolutely wonderful time. The rooms were very spacious and we had a lovely outside area where we could sit in the morning time with a cup of tea and watch the monkeys playing in the trees. The shared pool was much bigger than perceived by the photographs and a lovely relaxing area which we had to ourselves most of the time. The pier and small beach are both beautiful areas to watch the magnificent sunsets and would definitely recommend using the hotel kayaks to get to the long white sand beach around the corner. We also took the hotel boat to the sandbar and Prison Island to see the giant tortoises which was a brilliant day.

The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and eager to please. They were always on hand but not pushy in the slightest. We could take our breakfast and evening meal at any time which suited us and every meal we had was first class. We particularly enjoyed the Sunday evening gala BBQ dinner which included African dancers (even more enjoyable for us as it was my husband's birthday - the best he's ever had according to him!). The staff all really enjoyed themselves and seemed to be always happy which is a great testimony to the management.

Overall we would highly recommend this hotel. We all had an amazing holiday and will definitely be returning some time in the future to Zanzi Resort.

“A three week holiday in a week”TripAdvisor

Probably the most relaxed holiday in years. Really comfortable accommodation. Private pool was really private and used endlessly. Staff were discreet and really service oriented. The food was well above average with a substantial and often innovative menu.
Management was evident in a quiet and unobtrusive way. Everything promised was attended to even very minor things. It was a blessing not to have any noisy sport facilities and in truth it's just too hot. If that's what you want then there are other hotels that offer it. The pleasure at Zanzi is being somewhere where peace and being able to totally unwind were a given. No better place for a couple to spend time together.
It's usually not too difficult to criticize an hotel but at Zanzi you would have to struggle to find anything noteworthy.
The rating system as it stands doesn't adequately allow for adequate categorizing of a boutique hotel that is truly excellent.

Amazing!HRS Adar USAWent there on our honeymoon. Amazing resort offering all the privacy, comfort and amenities we could ask for. We stayed in the villas. Great service, villa was very specious, modern and well decorated. The food was excellent, along with everything else. The only two drawdowns of the resort: 1. The beach is not sandy. 2. The remote location, while giving perfect privacy, forces you to use specially ordered taxis and that could get pretty expensive if you're traveling out of the resort often. We found a nice, cheap and reliable taxi driver in Stone Town and called him every time we needed instead of using resort's taxi service. Other then that - everything was just perfect!
